| The Worst Musical Chairs in the World! |
The poverty conditions in America are horrific! Not only is the amount of people that are poor in America astonishing, the opportunities that they have to help themselves out is even worst. When I first saw the small chance poor people had up against the rich I guess I didn’t process how many poor people there were and how it compared to the small amount of chance they had to get ahead. When I think of poor people I think that they either have no job or money, until recently I have seen how hard it is to not become poor and how easily it is to become and stay poor in America.
When we first started to play the game it felt like everyone was on the same level, as time went on I realized the game had already started off unfairly. As the chances of getting a chair become slim I no longer felt the need to go crazy over something I couldn’t control, I was not lucky enough to have my name on a chair and the others like me seemed to be faster than I was. Being a “poor” person I as unable to get my chance. As time continued there were still many poor people scramming around for that chair while the rich people either walked really slow because they were confident in a guaranteed chair or were already sitting in a chair because the chase for a new one was useless. As my chance came to an end for those resources that could help me in the game, I did notice that the fight for that one chair was increasing. All the focus was on what was left wile no one focused on the others that were settled. I dawned on me how easily it would have been to just take one of these chairs. I wonder why don’t Americans just take over and make it fair again?
Unfortunately it sucked that this game is a representation of the way America’s economic system works because in the end there were such few people taking up 4 chairs and a whole bunch of people that worked hard to get one hair have none in the end with any hope for an opening. This game was a perfect representation on how the American way of life is right now. I personally know of so many people looking for a job nonstop with no success. It seems that the chances of a poor person trying to help themselves out of a rut is extremely slim or close to impossible. In times like this and in a system like this the support of the government must be huge. |
